This year's Supper with the Author Series opens Thursday, Oct. 23, at 5:45 p.m. at Temple Emanu-El, 29 Dayton Rd., Waterford. A buffet supper of assorted vegetarian, vegan and cheese pizzas, along with baked ziti and tossed salad will be served at 6 p.m. The featured author for the evening, David Salsburg, will begin his presentation at 6:45 p.m.

Salsburg will describe some of the problems that occur when trying to write a novel about the characters in the Bible and read from portions of his new novel, "Love Feeds Among the Lilies." Signed copies of his novel will be available, with all proceeds going to the Jewish Federation of Eastern Connecticut.
