A new award established in 2010 is the Ann Christensen Award, named in honor of the executive director of SAA from 1982 to 1994. The recipient of this award is Penny Cook of Bridgeport.

The Shoreline Arts Alliance is most grateful to this year's jurors: Martin Axon, photographer, platinum printer, and publisher, of Madison; Joshua Chuang, associate curator of photographs, Yale University Art Gallery, New Haven; and Mary Ann Lynch, photographer, writer, publisher/Combinations Press, Saratoga Springs, New York. Together they examined nearly 800 prints submitted by 143 photographers from across the state and carefully selected the works for the exhibit based upon creativity, photographic excellence, and ability to evoke reaction. The day-long deliberations resulted in a show featuring diverse subject matter, superior technical expertise, and artistic merit. There are 118 images representing 76 photographers.

IMAGES is executed by a dedicated effort of many volunteers of SAA, the participation of photographers throughout the state, and the unwavering support of its annual sponsors and supporters. Archie Stone, chairman of IMAGES 2013 is assisted by the Shoreline Arts Alliance Visual Arts Committee, chaired by Doug Nygren. The major sponsor for this year's exhibition is Yale-New Haven Hospital, with additional support from Sennheiser Electronic Corporation and the Connecticut Office of the Arts. Poster and promotional material design was donated by Chris Hyde of Cipher Creative Group.
