Mötley Crüe in concert at Mohegan Sun

Who knew you had to be a law school graduate to go see a Mötley Crüe concert? The iconic L.A. hair-metal act, headlining Sunday in the Mohegan Sun Arena, is out on the road completing their final tour. Ever.

    Or are they?

Oh, yes, a huge PR deal was orchestrated wherein the four members of the band - Nikki Sixx, Vince Neil, Tommy Lee and Mick Mars - signed a contract guaranteeing that, after this last junket, they can never again tour together (or in any configuration) as Mötley Crüe.

Well, I'm not Daniel Webster, but two things occur to me when I hear this: (1) When are contractual agreements legally enforceable? and (2) What are the consequences of breaking a legally enforceable promise?

I'd suggest that, in the Crüe's case, "legally enforceable" is moot since, apparently, Vince Neil's entire life has been an argument against the idea of "legally enforceable." Secondly, I'd say the "consequences" of any of the Crüe-sters breaking this "no tour" contract would be ... wait for it ... A NEW CRÜE TOUR!!

Just for the sake of argument, though, hit the arena and see these wild boys one more time. You'll never have another chance!

Alice Cooper and The Raskins appear in support.
