Second suspect charged in Norwich stabbing
Norwich – Police arrested a second person Thursday in connection with a stabbing last month in which an unidentified victim suffered serious injuries.
Angel Romero, 27, of New Britain, was charged Thursday with first-degree assault and carrying a dangerous weapon.
Police at 11:10 p.m. on Sept. 24 responded to the stabbing on Central Avenue. The victim sustained a serious injury, but is expected to survive, police said.
Romero was held in lieu of a $200,000 bond and scheduled to appear Friday in Norwich Superior Court.
Police last Friday also arrested Carlos Romero, 38, of Norwich, in connection with the stabbing. He remains held in prison in lieu of a $200,000 bond.
It's not clear how the men are related.
Court records show both men were arrested by Norwich police on Sept. 24, the day of the stabbing. Angel Romero was charged with possession of narcotics and interfering with an officer. Carlos Romero was charged with possession of a dangerous weapon and interfering with an officer.
