    Thoughtful response brings license home

I walked my dog on a beach on Pequot Avenue, New London. I carried my driver's license in the pocket of my jeans. When I arrived home I no longer had my license. It apparently slipped out of my pocket. My husband and I returned to the beach, searching for it, to no avail.

The next day, as I was working out back, my neighbor came by. In his hand he waved something. It was my license. He had been working on his front lawn when a man approached him stating that he was looking for a woman who had lost her license. He and his son were on the beach searching for shells (they live in Norwich), and found the license.

I never was able to recognize him for his trouble. So, I am hoping that he will read this note and understand that I am truly indebted to him.
