    NBA roundup

Jared Sullinger of the Celtics grabs a rebound in traffic during the first half of Wednesday night's game against the Thunder at Boston. The Thunder won 109-94.

    Thunder 109, Celtics 94

Reggie Jackson had 28 points and eight assists, and Anthony Morrow scored 28 to lift the injury-riddled Oklahoma City Thunder to a victory over Boston on Wednesday night.

It was the second win in six games for the Thunder, who are missing stars Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.

Jackson, a standout at nearby Boston College from 2008-11, posted his big game a night after scoring a career-high 29 in a loss at Milwaukee.

Rajon Rondo just missed his second triple-double of the season with 20 points, 12 assists and nine rebounds. Avery Bradley added 17 points for Boston, which had won its last two.

The Celtics went 9 for 33 from beyond the 3-point line.

Leading by four entering the final quarter, the Thunder - behind Morrow and Jackson - hit eight of their first 10 shots from the floor and opened a 94-81 lead on Morrow's floater from the right baseline with 6:13 to play.

They kept up their strong shooting, opening a 105-88 advantage on consecutive 3-pointers by Nick Collison and Morrow.

Alternating between zone and man-to-man defense, Oklahoma City seemed to frustrate the Celtics, who fired up a number of long-range jumpers - missing most of them.

The Thunder trailed 64-59 midway through the third quarter, but went on a 9-2 run to take their first lead on Steven Adams' free throw. Jackson, who had 14 points and four assists in the quarter, swished a 3 from deep with 0.3 seconds left, giving Oklahoma City a 76-72 edge.

In a first half filled with poor 3-point shooting, the Celtics owned a 51-42 edge at halftime. Boston missed 14 of 19 from beyond the arc, including at least four airballs. The Thunder went 3 for 10 on their 3-point attempts.

    Magic 97, Knicks 95

Evan Fournier scored a career-high 28 points, and Orlando bounced back from a poor finish with a good one, handing New York a sixth straight loss.

Nikola Vucevic added 20 points and 13 rebounds for the Magic, who led by 11 points after three quarters in Toronto a night earlier, only to lose 104-100. This time, they trailed 85-84 midway through the final period before taking control.

Carmelo Anthony scored 27 points for the Knicks, who were held to 19 in the fourth quarter and still haven't reached 100 this season.

Fournier was credited with a basket on a goaltending call with 4:27 left to cap a run of five straight points and gave Orlando an 89-85 lead. He later added another free throw during an 8-2 run that made it 92-87, as the Knicks had just one basket in 4 1-2 minutes.

But the Knicks had a chance after Anthony made a 3-pointer with 4.3 seconds to cut it to 96-95. Fournier missed the second of two free throws with 3.8 to go, but J.R. Smith was nowhere close on a potential winning 3-point attempt. Smith finished with 19 points. Orlando snapped a four-game losing streak in New York.

    Pelicans 109, Lakers 102

Anthony Davis had 25 points, 12 rebounds and six blocked shots, and New Orleans pulled away from the reeling Los Angeles Lakers.

Tyreke Evans had 19 points and 11 assists for New Orleans. Ryan Anderson and Jrue Holiday each added 17 points.

Kobe Bryant scored 33 on 10-of-28 shooting, one night after setting the NBA record for most missed field goals in a career.

    Hawks 100, Jazz 97

Paul Millsap had 30 points and 17 rebounds and Jeff Teague added 17 points to help Atlanta beat Utah.

Kyle Korver's 3-pointer from the left wing with 58 seconds to play put the Hawks up 100-97 and marked the game's 18th lead change.

Alec Burks finished with 22 points and Derrick Favors scored 20 for the Jazz.

Utah (3-6) led by eight with 4:34 remaining, but the Jazz failed to score again, missing their final seven shots.

    Pacers 81, Heat 75

Chris Copeland scored 17 points and put Indiana ahead to stay on a layup with 43 seconds left, Roy Hibbert added 16 points and 15 rebounds and the undermanned Pacers beat Miami.

Donald Sloan added 15 points for Indiana, which has won two straight after a 1-6 start.

Dwyane Wade scored 20 points for Miami, which trailed by seven in the fourth before tying the game twice but never recapturing the lead.

    Wizards 107, Pistons 103

John Wall had 27 points and 11 assists as Washington pulled out a win over Detroit.

The teams traded the lead on five consecutive baskets before Wall's jumper with 1:11 to play put the Wizards ahead 101-100. Marcin Gortat, who had 13 points and 14 rebounds dunked with 38 seconds to play, giving Washington a 3-point lead.

Rasual Butler had 18 points for the Wizards. His two free throws with four seconds to play put Washington ahead 107-103. Butler made seven of his eight field goal attempts.
