New London shooting leaves victim with injuries that are not life-threatening

New London — City police continue to investigate a shooting late Thursday that left one man with non-life threatening gunshot wounds.

At 11:27 p.m. Thursday, police received 911 calls for reports of gunfire in the area of Alger Street and Riverview Avenue. Officers found one shooting victim, who was taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital. Police did not release the victim’s name. The shooter has yet to be identified.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police department’s detective division at (860) 447-1481. Information can be kept confidential.
