New London – City police are investigating the possible theft of two dozen American flags reported missing from Waterfront Park.

The flags were on display along the waterfront walkway in preparation for the Connecticut Schooner Festival, which begins in Mystic Wednesday and comes to the New London Friday. Police were alerted to their disappearance on Monday.
