Man charged with leaving toddler alone in Foxwoods hotel room

Mashantucket – Tribal police have arrested a Windsor Locks man for allegedly leaving his 3-year-old son alone for several hours at the Fox Tower while at Foxwoods Casino with his girlfriend.

Troy Forster, 33, of 35 Church St. in Windsor Locks was charged by warrant Tuesday with risk of injury to a minor.

Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Police said at 2:35 a.m. on Nov. 23 they were called to the Fox Tower for reports of a toddler in the hallway crying. Hotel guests had contacted security.

Police said the toddler had apparently wandered out of one of the hotel rooms on his own. Police were reviewing security footage when the child’s father returned at about 2:56 a.m.

Police said they believe the child was in the hotel room alone for more than three hours. Police contacted the Department of Children and Families.

Free on a $5,000 non-surety bond, Forster is scheduled to appear Dec. 29 in New London Superior Court.
