Seaside park information session to gather public's input
Waterford - The public information meeting Monday for the Seaside State Park project will be a workshop session that allows attendees to informally provide input to staff and the master planning team, the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said Friday.
The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. at the Waterford Town Hall Auditorium.
It will begin with a welcome from Susan Whalen, DEEP's deputy commissioner of environmental conservation, and a presentation on the planning process for the new state park at Seaside. That presentation will be made by Oak Park Architects and Sasaki Associates, master planners for the project.
Following the presentations, the public will be invited to view displays on the project and talk with staff on various aspects of it, including recreational amenities, traffic plans, parking, and the future of existing buildings at Seaside, DEEP said in a news release.
Written comments also will be accepted at this session. Details concerning a dedicated website for the park planning process, which will provide additional opportunities for public comment, will be announced at the meeting, DEEP said.
The information session is being hosted by DEEP, and the state’s Office of Policy and Management, and the Department of Administrative Services – Division of Construction Services.
Additional meetings will be scheduled early in 2015, DEEP said.
