"Magic in the Moonlight" is not so enchanting

You win some, you lose some. Woody Allen created a gem with last year's "Blue Jasmine" but followed it up with the lackluster romantic comedy "Magic in the Moonlight." And Emma Stone gave one of her best performances - which is saying something for this talented young actress - as a damaged, fresh-from-rehab daughter in "Birdman." In "Magic in the Moonlight," though, she's out of her element as a young woman in 1920s France who might be a psychic ... or a charlatan. Colin Firth, as the magician trying to prove Stone is a fake, works mightily to inject life into the proceedings. Better luck next time, guys.
