    Charles A. Dauria, 93, North Haven

    Charles A. Dauria, 93, of North Haven, husband of 69 years to Trofomena Cimino Dauria, died Sept. 23 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Mr. Dauria was born Oct. 18, 1919 in New Haven to the late Antonio and Maria Donnarummo Dauria.

    He served his country faithfully in the United States Navy at Pearl Harbor during World War II, and later worked for the former Winchester’s Repeating Arms, The Olin Corp, United Nuclear and Olin Ski.

    Mr. Dauria was a member of the Northeast Volunteer Fire Department and the Knights of Columbus, and served as a Eucharistic minister for six years. He was very handy when it came to fixing different things, and he enjoyed and loved his family.

    He is survived by his son Anthony Dauria and his wife Julie; his daughter Maryann and her husband Wayne Mele; his grandchildren Chad Christopher Dauria and his wife Raina and Tori Anne Dauria; his great-grandchildren Matthew Charles Dauria, Christopher James Dauria and Alexander James Stamboulidis; and Carmen Dauria. He was predeceased by his brothers Frank and Anthony Dauria; and his sisters Rose Gaudio and Helen Proto.

    Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian burial Thursday, Sept. 26 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Church, Pond Hill Road, North Haven, followed by committal service with full military honors in All Saints Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
