    Historical Society appoints new leadership

    The New London County Historical Society recently appointed Steven Manuel to the position of executive director, replacing Edward Baker who retired after 10 years in the role. Kayla Correll was hired to the new position of associate director.

    Manuel, a native of Massachusetts, is a Navy veteran who served from 1984 to 1994. After leaving the Navy, Manuel attended the University of Massachusetts and received degrees in wildlife biology and history. He later earned a master's degree in history from Northeastern University.

    Correll, a resident of Norwich, graduated in 2012 with a Bachelors of Arts in History from Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne. She is enrolled in the Masters of Arts in Museum Studies program at Johns Hopkins.
