Police: Mystic man suffers fatal heart attack while shoveling snow

Groton – Town police said today that a 70-year-old Mystic man suffered a fatal heart attack at about 4:45 p.m. Tuesday while shoveling snow from the sidewalk in front of his house on Warren Avenue.

Joe Sastre, director of emergency management, said the man's wife was doing chest compressions when emergency personnel arrived. The man was taken by ambulance to Lawrence+Memorial Hospital, but attempts to revive him were unsuccessful, Sastre said.

"If you've got an elderly neighbor and you've got teenagers, or you've got middle aged folks nearby, send the teenagers over. Put them to work," Sastre said. "Help them out."
