Storrs - The UConn football schedule was finalized on Thursday with the American Athletic Conference announcing its league slate. The Huskies' 12-game schedule includes eight league games and six home contests at Rentschler Field. Kickoff times and television information will be announced at a later date.

The American will feature divisional play for the first time this season. The Huskies square off against each of the other five members of the East division as well as three crossover opponents from the West. The East Division includes Central Florida, Cincinnati, UConn, East Carolina, South Florida and Temple. The West Division is Houston, Memphis, Navy, SMU, Tulane and Tulsa.

The Huskies' 2015 schedule features games against eight teams that played in bowl and playoff games last season.

UConn will open the season with a pair of non-league home contests, kicking off the season against Villanova on Thursday, Sept. 3 before hosting Army on Sept. 12. The Wildcats advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA FCS tournament in 2014, while UConn has a 4-2 all-time record vs. Army - including last season's matchup at Yankee Stadium.

UConn plays its first road game of the season on Sept. 19 when it travels to two-time defending SEC East Champion Missouri. The Huskies and Tigers have never met and UConn sports a 2-2 all-time record against teams currently comprising the SEC. The Tigers defeated Minnesota by a 33-17 score in last year's Citrus Bowl.

The Huskies begin conference play on Sept. 26 when they host league-newcomer Navy at Rentschler Field. The Huskies and Mids have met seven times in a series that began in 1975, with the most recent meeting in 2006. UConn took on Navy for the first time during its FBS era during the 2002 season and came away with a 38-0 victory. The Midshipmen defeated San Diego State by a 17-16 score in last year's Poinsettia Bowl.

After closing the non-conference slate BYU on Friday, Oct. 2 in a return game of the 2014 season opener, UConn begins a seven-game American Athletic Conference stretch for the remainder of the season. The Cougars played Memphis in last season's Miami Beach Bowl. The UConn-BYU game will be televised by ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU.

A trip to UCF begins the conference run on Oct. 10. Last season, the Huskies handed the Knights their lone conference loss in the two-year history of The American. The Knights went on to play North Carolina State in the St. Petersburg Bowl.

Two familiar league foes follow the UCF contest, with UConn playing host to USF (12 all-time meetings) on Oct. 17 and visiting Cincinnati (11 meetings) on Oct. 24. Cincinnati played Virginia Tech in last year's Military Bowl.

East Carolina makes its Rentschler Field debut on Oct. 30 for an ESPNU game. The Pirates played Florida in the Birmingham Bowl last season. The Huskies then travel to Tulane for the second-consecutive season on Nov. 7.

After hosting Houston in the first-ever match-up between the Huskies and Cougars on Nov. 21, UConn closes the regular season at Temple on Nov. 28. The Owls are the most-played opponent of any team on the Connecticut schedule with 15 prior match-ups. Houston defeated Pittsburgh by a 35-34 scored in last season's Armed Forces Bowl.

Following the conclusion of the regular season, the first American Athletic Conference Championship game will be held on Dec. 5. The site of that contest will be released at a later date.
