    Pre-game preview: Tulane

It's hard to believe the regular season is already winding down.

UConn has five games left before hosting the American Athletic Conference tournament in Hartford.

      Tulane visits Gampel Pavilion today.

      Here's a pre-game preview:

      -- Tip-off: 4 p.m. (CBS Sports Network)

      -- Records: Tulane 14-11, 5-8; UConn 14-11, 7-6

-- Last game: Tulane 14-11, 5-8; UConn lost at Memphis, 75-72, Thursday

-- Probable starters: UConn, 6-0 sr. guard Ryan Boatright (18 pts, 4.5 rebs, 4.4 assists), 6-4 so. guard Terrence Samuel (4.2 pts), 6-4 so. guard Rodney Purvis (10.1 pts), 6-7 fr. forward Daniel Hamilton (10 pts, 7.1 rebs), 7-0 so. center Amida Brimah (10 pts, 4.7 rebs,  3.2 blks)

       Noteworthy:

-- UConn goes for season series sweep, winning 62-53 in New Orleans Feb. 7 behind Boatright’s 18 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Purvis added 17 points

-- Only second meeting in series.

-- The Huskies are in sixth place in the AAC, the Green Wave seventh. The top five teams will earn first round byes in the conference tournament.

-- Tulane has lost six of its last seven.

-- Hamilton is tied with Temple's Jaylen Bond for rebounding lead in AAC games at 8.9 per game.

-- Boatright is coming off a frustrating game, scoring just seven points and picking up a technical foul in a loss at Memphis. The Huskies are 0-4 this season when he fails to score in double figures.

He'll continue to be the focus of opposing defenses.

"He's got to fight his way through it," coach Kevin Ollie said. "If you see frustration on his face, then that's a bad thing because opponents see frustration. He's just got to keep playing."

-- The Huskies are 5-1 at home in AAC games.

-- Injury update: Sam Cassell Jr. (stress fracture) remains sidelined.

-- Hot: Boatright is 16 for 17 from the foul line in the last four games. Cold: Purvis is 2-for-11 during the same stretch.
