    Museum shares big ideas about 'Big Paintings'

    The Florence Griswold Museum in Old Lyme presents a series of free lectures to accompany the current exhibition, "Peter Halley: Big Paintings." Lectures begin at 5 p.m. and light receptions follow.

    On Saturday, Tim Griffin, executive director of The Kitchen in New York, will present "Cells & Conduits: Peter Halley in His Contemporary Contexts," covering some of Halley's earliest exhibitions and writings.

    The series continues on Saturday, April 11, with "Peter Halley: Utopia/Dystopia" and concludes with "My 1980s and Other Readings" on Saturday, April 25.
