    High school lacrosse roundup: High-five for Phetteplace in Colonels' win

    Woodstock — Ellie Phetteplace had five goals and two assists and Liz Austin added two goals and two assists as the Ledyard High School girls' lacrosse team beat Woodstock Academy 11-9 Tuesday in the Eastern Connecticut Conference Large Division.

    Brooke Scahill scored twice and Maddie Tilton had a goal and an assist for Ledyard (3-1, 3-1). Also, Leslie Dunn scored and Gretchen Montgomery had seven saves.

    In other games:

    • Julie Chabot, Leah Petrini and Megan Sturm each had two goals in Waterford’s 11-1 victory over Wheeler in the ECC Small Division. Riley Dimmock added a goal and two assists, as Waterford (4-1, 4-1) outshot Wheeler 25-4. Maddy Jones scored the only goal for Wheeler (0-3, 0-3).

    • Hannah Johnson scored four goals and Lauren Turner added three goals and an assist in Stonington's 17-3 win over Griswold in the ECC Small. Margit Burgess had four goals and an assist for Stonington (4-0, 4-0).

    • Belle Kenny had four goals and two assists and Vanessa Vurno had two goals and four assists as East Lyme beat Norwich Free Academy 16-5 in the ECC Large. Kendall Roberts scored four times and Riley Aspinwall and Steph deLaforcade each had two goals for East Lyme (5-0, 5-0). Also, Gabby Fiengo had two assists. Kamryn Grace and Melissa Rayment each had two goals for NFA (2-4, 2-3).

    • Sydney Cowell scored six goals to power Old Lyme past Berlin 17-6. Maggie Berger added three goals and four assists, Lauren Quaratella had three goals and two assists and Anna Mesham had two goals for Old Lyme (2-0).

    • Nancy Kuhn scored three goals, while Shannon Amarello, Flora Klise, Kara Bassett, Emma Givens and Brianne Hoffa each added two in St. Bernard's 15-5 win over Montville in the ECC Small. Kuhn and Amarello also had two assists each for the Saints (4-2, 4-2). Rachel Marchini, Emily Kewer, Tay Montminy, Ally Foster and Lauryn Benoit scored for Montville (1-3, 1-3).

    Boys

    • Michael Beltran had a goal and two assists in Waterford's 9-5 loss to Morgan School. Luke Barrs, Billy Barrs, Dillon McCarthy and Spencer Sgandurra also scored for Waterford (3-2).
