Day gets international recognition for innovation
The Day won second place in an international competition this week to identify the best idea or innovation to create new profit centers.
The International News Media Association's annual World Congress recognized The Day and and theday.com for its revenue diversification efforts related to new sponsored content developed by its marketing division.
Only 30 media companies among the INMA's membership of more than 600 were recognized during the event in New York City.
"We were nominated and up against companies like The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, the Globe and Mail, and other large media groups from Australia to Venezuela," said Michael Moses, The Day's marketing director.
El Columbiano, which finished first in The Day's category, also won Best in Show for its "ECOlab," an internal media lab that judges saw as a “sea change” in media innovation.
