New London police investigating possible hit-and-run accident
New London — New London police are investigating a possible hit-and-run accident that occurred on Wednesday night.
Around 9:40 p.m. Wednesday, members of the New London police and fire departments responded to a report of an injured female in the northbound lane of Montauk Avenue near Alger Place.
The woman was walking her dog on Montauk Avenue when she was possibly struck by a vehicle causing her to be knocked to the ground, according to an initial investigation by police. Her injuries were not life-threatening, and she was transported to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Investigators believe the vehicle involved may be blue in color with possible fresh damage from the accident.
