Live Lunch Break Flashback - The Dallas Moore Band

With the dawn of summer, we shifted The Day's "Live Lunch Break" concert series outdoors into New London's Hygienic Art Park. A nice crowd turned out to enjoy a PhD-worthy musical dissertation on pure "outlaw honky-tonk" courtesy of the Kentucky/Ohio-based Dallas Moore Band. The group was sensational and twisted more than a few heads as to the meaning of "real" country music. Traveling behind their new CD "Dark Horse Rider," they tightrope-walked the time-honored C&W meditations on Good and/or Evil — both of which can usually co-exist if there's beer involved. The show also marked the debut of a new "Lunch Break" food purveyor, Supreme Hot Dogs, whose savories induced plenty of smiles. If you missed the show, we archive all of our "Lunch Break" performances at theday.com/section/medialivelunch. Next week join us as Ear Candy for the Soul performs.
