Son of missing Connecticut couple also has disappeared
Bridgeport — Police investigating the disappearance this month of a Connecticut couple are now also looking for that pair's 27-year-old son.
Jeanette Navin, 55, and Jeffrey Navin, 56, of Easton haven't been seen since Aug. 4. Their pickup truck was found Aug. 9 in a commuter lot off the Merritt Parkway in Westport with a shattered window.
Kyle Navin, the operations manager for the family's refuse company, J & J Refuse of Westport, disappeared about a week ago from his Bridgeport home, according to neighbors who told the Connecticut Post that they saw him pack up his car and leave.
State and Bridgeport police spent Wednesday night and part of Thursday searching his house, bringing in dogs at one point.
But Trooper Kelly Grant, a department spokeswoman, declined to say Friday whether police consider Kyle Navin a suspect in his parents' disappearance or a missing person.
Easton Police Chief Tim Shaw also declined to comment on what he said remained an "open investigation."
Calls to J&J Refuse and a cellphone number believed to belong to Kyle Navin were met with busy signals on Friday. He also did not return an email seeking comment.

Easton police had said that Kyle Navin was the last person known to have seen his parents. He told police that he believed Jeffery and Jeanette Navin had gone out to dinner after visiting with him on Aug. 4.
"Kyle stated that he has a broken back and is unable to work right now," police told The Connecticut Post. "His parents asked if he wanted to go out to dinner that night, but he told them his back was hurting and he didn't want to go out."
Other family members reported the parents missing on Aug. 7.
Prosecutors on Wednesday asked state police to take over the investigation. Police obtained warrants to search Kyle Navin's home, the parent's property in Easton, a house they own in Westport and several bank accounts, according to a clerk at Bridgeport Superior Court.
State court records show Jeffrey Navin was $2.2 million in debt as of December in connection with a mortgage on a Guilford home that has been in foreclosure since 2007. Relatives issued a statement denying the couple's disappearance is related to the debt.
The Hartford Courant reported the couple sold the Weston home, which they had owned since 1994, in May for $900,000.
