‘Walking Dead’ podcast: Building a better walker wall

We’ve been gone too long. Blame it on the mild summer and lack of anything terribly compelling on television (except for “Fear the Walking Dead”). When we weren’t gallivanting off into summer sunsets, we existed on Netflix, Amazon Prime and PBS, catching up on random series (“Veronica Mars,”); fresher but between-season hits (the excellent “Transparent”); and comfort-food, second-viewing binges (“The Wire”).

But with the fall came the return of “The Walking Dead,” and we’ve invested too much time, space and discussion into the series to give up on it now. Left with a massive cliffhanger at the close of season five, the first episode of season six kept stress levels high, action intense, and emotions raw — with loads of gore in the mix. It’s a good thing we can’t binge this series, because we’d likely emerge from it a bit unhinged if the premiere is any indicator.

We chat about the 90-minute blockbuster opening episode of season six here in our podcast, “TV Takeout.” Share your thoughts in the comments, say hi on Twitter (@TheMDesk and @edgecombday), or drop us a line.
