Finance director accused of cheating at Twin River casino
NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — North Providence's finance director has been arrested after police say he tried to cheat at Twin River Casino.
Police say 36-year-old Justin Cambio was taken into custody at North Providence Town Hall on Thursday after an investigation by the state police gambling unit.
Police say Cambio tried to increase his winnings by placing more chips on the blackjack table after having already won the hand. Investigators say they reviewed surveillance footage.
Cambio was arraigned Thursday in Warwick and released on $10,000 personal recognizance.
Mayor Charlie Lombardi told WJAR-TV he's consulting with the town attorney as to whether Cambio will keep his job.
