Stonington town employee injured during fight while on job
Stonington — A town highway employee was injured Thursday during a fight with a landscaper.
The incident occurred at 11:25 a.m. while town employees were on a paving project on Prentice Williams Road. Town employee Tim Keena became embroiled in a dispute with landscaper Morgan S. Dean, 36, of 29 Clarks Falls Road in North Stonington, according to Stonington Police Captain Todd Olson. Dean was working on private property at the time. A fight ensued, according to Olson.
Stonington police charged Dean with breach of peace, third-degree assault and second-degree assault. Olson said police continue their investigation and have not ruled out the possibility of an additional arrest.
The extent of Keena’s injuries was not immediately available. He was taken by ambulance to the Pequot Health Center in Groton for treatment.
