NEWINGTON (AP) — Authorities say a bear that wandered around a Connecticut town this week has been tranquilized and relocated.
The Hartford Courant reports that police say the 180-pound black bear was spotted Wednesday at a Newington country club. It then moved into a neighborhood.
Representatives of the state Department of Energy & Environment Protection searched for the bear after it was reported by residents.
Animal Control Officer Deborah Monde says it was eventually found in a tree, tranquilized and safety moved to a new home.
