Driver flees accident scene, crashes into police car on I-95
STRATFORD — A driver who fled the scene of a motor vehicle accident on I-95 Saturday evening was taken into custody after crashing into a police car while trying to evade police.
State police spokeswoman Trooper First Class Kelly Grant said a motor vehicle accident occurred around 9:45 p.m. Saturday on I-95 southbound, near Exit 41.
One of the cars led police on a pursuit before crashing into a Stratford police cruiser at Exit 32. The evading vehicle then caught fire, Grant said.
The driver, who was unidentified, was taken into police custody and transported to St. Vincent's Hospital via ambulance for evaluation.
No injuries were reported in either accident, Grant said.
