Preston — For the second time in three days, a motorist has died in a car crash here.

According to state police, James Ferando, 68, of 110 Pukallos Ave,, Norwich, was killed early Sunday morning when his Toyota Camry flipped onto its roof and into a ditch along Route 165.

Police said Ferando was driving eastbound approximately three-tenths of a mile east of Cedarcrest Drive at 5:35 a.m. when he crossed into the westbound lane and went off the road and struck a curb.

The car came to rest on its roof. Police said Ferando succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene by firefighters. The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Trooper Bugatti at 860-848-6500.

On Thursday afternoon, Jenette M. Grabowski, 45, of Lisbon, died when her car struck two other vehicles on Route 2A.
