Norwich — Several residents temporarily were displaced from an East Main Street home on Thursday as the result of damage from a kitchen fire.
The fire at 482 E. Main St. was extinguished within about 10 minutes, though firefighters remained at the scene to ensure the fire had not spread. The Red Cross was en route to the scene at 9 p.m. to assess whether the family needed emergency shelter for the night, fire officials said.
Further details about the fire, which forced the closure of a portion of East Main Street for about an hour, were not immediately available.
