    Merrill House names writers-in-residence

You won't see any FOR RENT signs anytime soon outside the James Merrill House in Stonington. The historical former home of renowned poet James Merrill is, of course, now a museum and hosts a writer-in-residence program where established and rising authors can reside, create and hopefully channel inspiration from the surroundings. The Merrill House Committee has just announced the next several writers-in-residence for the program. In September, poet Dan Chiasson, a professor of English at Wellesley College and the poetry critic for The New Yorker, will be at the Merrill House. Chiasson is the author of five books, most recently "Bicentennial" (Knopf), and is the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship, the Whiting Award and the Pushcart Prize. Other announced Merrill residency recipients are D.M. Aderibigbe (Oct. 2017), Maxim Loskutoff (Nov.-Dec. '17), Mike Alberti (Dec. '17-Jan. '18), Suzanne Rivecca (spring '18) and Duy Doan (June '18).
