New population estimates show decrease across the state

The U.S. Census released their new population estimates. The new numbers show that of the 15 fastest-growing large cities, 10 of them are in the South. Of Connecticut's 5 most populous cities - Bridgeport, New Haven, Stamford, Hartford and Waterbury – only Stamford saw a slight increase (.55%) in population between 2015-2016.

We took a look at the percentage change in population between 2015 and 2016 for all Connecticut towns. East Lyme saw the second-biggest decrease in population (-1.9%), while Stonington saw the biggest increase (1.9%).
