    Norwich Adult Education holds graduation ceremony

    Norwich — Norwich Regional Adult Education awarded diplomas to 45 graduates Thursday in three programs, and also honored the support the program's students receive each year from the Otis Library.

    In the ceremony at the Jacqueline Owens Auditorium at Kelly Middle School, 36 students graduated from the high school credit diploma program, two from the National External Diploma Program and seven students received their General Education Diplomas.

    The Community Service Award, which recognizes someone from the community who has gone above and beyond their job expectations to help Adult Education, was presented to Bassem Gayed, Otis Library's multicutural services coordinator.

    Awards and scholarships were presented to graduates Patience F. Dozier, Fiordaliza C.Billias, Edwin F. Benjamin Jr. and Elizabeth Polius, and class speakers were Daniel P. Cox, Patience F. Dozier and Penelope F. Knowles.
