Disney Jr's "PJ Masks" comes to Garde

The child animated superheroes of Disney Jr’s hit television series, “PJ Masks,” are slotted to come to life in an on-stage live-action musical at the Garde Arts Center on Tuesday.

“PJ Masks,” a television show for toddlers and young children, tells the stories of three friends, Connor, Amaya and Greg, who become superheroes at night after putting on their pajamas. Turning into their alter egos — Catboy, Owlette and Gekko — they embark on adventures and solve mysteries.

This traveling musical, which will make stops to 63 cities throughout North America, is kicking off its national tour here in New London. And audiences can expect, aside from an exciting story, special effects, LED big screens, fantastic costumes and a giant robot, of all things.

Here’s the plotline: The three PJ Masks have banded together to save the playground from the three nighttime villains who want to take it as their own. Catboy, Owlette and Gekko will have to learn how to work together to defeat all three villains at once, a first for the superhero group.

“PJ Masks Live! Time to Be a Hero,” 6 p.m. Tuesday, Garde Arts Center, 325 State St., New London; $25-$95; (860) 444-7373.
