    Wichita State to make AAC debut at UConn

    Storrs — Wichita State will plays its first game in the American Athletic Conference against UConn when the Huskies host the Shockers on Saturday, Dec. 30, in a noon game at the XL Center in Hartford.

    The game is part of UConn's 18-game AAC schedule, which was released on Friday.

    Combined with a 13-game non-conference schedule previously released, the Huskies will play 16 home games, nine at Gampel Pavilion and seven at the XL Center, plus an exhibition game at each venue.

    UConn's remaining game times, venues, and TV coverage will be announced at a later date.

    The Wichita State game is one of two UConn games to be televised nationally on CBS, the other against former Big East rival Villanova on Jan. 20 at the XL Center. The Huskies will also have 18 games on the ESPN family of networks, six games on the CBS Sports Network and five on SNY.

    Following the UConn-Wichita State debut on Dec. 30, the Huskies will head for Tulsa and its first AAC road game on Wednesday, Jan. 3. Two consecutive home games follow, against East Carolina on Saturday, Jan. 6 (Hartford), and Central Florida on Wednesday, Jan. 10 (Storrs).

    The rest of UConn's AAC schedule: Jan. 13, at Tulane; Jan. 15, at Memphis; Jan. 25, SMU (Storrs); Jan. 28, at Temple; Jan. 31, at South Florida; Feb. 3, Cincinnati (Storrs); Feb. 7, USF (Storrs); Feb. 10, at Wichita State; Feb. 15, Tulsa (Hartford); Feb. 18, at East Carolina; Feb. 22, at Cincinnati; Feb. 25, Memphis (Storrs); Feb. 28, Temple (Storrs); March 4, at Houston.
