In the deadliest mass shooting in Texas history, in which 26 were fatally shot in a church in Sutherland Springs, several of the victims were children. In its wake, officials, including President Donald Trump, maintain that stricter gun laws are not needed.

The Texas shooting came mere weeks after a separate mass shooting in Las Vegas left 59 dead and more than 500 others wounded at an outdoor music festival.
