Hartford _ Another game, another painful loss for the UConn men’s basketball team.

UConn battled back from a nine-point second-half deficit to force

overtime only to fall to American Athletic Conference co-leader Tulsa, 79-75, Sunday at the XL Center.

The Huskies (10-9) extended their losing streak to four straight. All four losses have come by six points or less. They’re also 0-3 in overtime games this season.

They’re off to their worst start in their AAC history at 1-5.

Freshman James Bouknight had a team-high 16 points while redshirt freshman Akok Akok had career bests in points (13) and blocks (seven) to go with seven rebounds and redshirt freshman Sidney Wilson had 12 points. Senior Martins Igbanu led Tulsa with 28 points.

UConn senior Christian Vital converted three free throws with 3.4 seconds remaining to tie the score at 61-all.

But Tulsa (14-6, 6-1) took charge from there, scoring the first six points of overtime. Brandon Rachael’s driving basket put the Golden Hurricane ahead for good, 63-61, with 4:12 remaining in the extra session. 

The Huskies never recovered.
