Coming here: The African Children’s Choir performs Friday at the Cornerstone City Church in Norwich, singing children’s songs, as well as a spiritual and gospel numbers.

The power of education: The choir’s parent organization is Music for Life, which aims to “create new leadership for tomorrow’s Africa, by focusing on education.” Over time, the group has helped educate more than 52,000 kids.

Toward doing good: While the shows are presented for free, concert-goers can donate toward African Children’s Choir programs, which include education, care and relief and development efforts.

For queens and Beatles: The choir has performed for Queen Elizabeth II of England for her diamond jubilee. It has sung with artists from Paul McCartney to Mariah Carey to Annie Lennox. The choir makes an appearance in the upcoming Hugh Jackman film “Pan.”
