Get Weird: Yankovic bring his parodies to Foxwoods

    It’s a Yankovic renaissance!

Just when we all thought “Weird Al” was ... well, we hadn’t really thought about Weird Al at all recently, to be honest ... but then darned if, last year, he didn’t have a hit album. As in, it debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 200 album chart; it was the first comedy album to hit #1 in more than a half-century.

Then he went home with a Grammy this year for that album, “Mandatory Fun.” And, yes, he won it — he didn’t just grab it and run.

Yankovic is out on tour and drawing crowds with his mix of old (“Smells Like Nirvana” and “Like a Surgeon”) and new (“Word Crimes,” from “Blurred Lines,” and “Tacky,” from “Happy”). In fact, they had to add a 4 p.m. show to his 8 p.m. Foxwoods’ Fox Theater gig on Saturday, due to — what else? — “popular demand.”

“Weird Al” Yankovic, 4 and 8 p.m. Saturday, Foxwoods’ Fox Theater; $55; 1-800-200-2882.
