    Latin pop-rocker Juanes plays Foxwoods

Well, yes, we all grow older and mature and mellow out. You listening, Vince Neil?

Anyway, this "mellower" stuff includes Juanes, the dude who for years was the lead singer for the Colombian metal act called Ekhymosis — and what's more metal than naming your band after the medical term for when blood from ruptured vessels seeps into tissue? (This condition is also known as Vince Neil's eyes.)

Back to Juanes! Post-metal, he became a huge star in Latin crossover pop-rock. He's sold over 15 million albums and won 20 Latin Grammy awards. His autobiography became a bestseller in Colombia.

In 2014, Juanes released "Loco de Amor" — an ear-happy festival of polished choruses produced by none other than Steve "I've worked with U2, the Stones, XTC, Big Country, The Killers and The Pogues" Lillywhite. Very impresseive.

Juanes performs Friday in the Grand Theater at Foxwoods — and just in case you don't speak Spanish? You'll dig it, anyway.

    Juanes, 9 p.m. Friday, Grand Theater, Foxwoods; $36-$76; 1-800-200-2882.
