Rascal Flatts brings "Rewind" tour to Mohegan Sun

Rascal Flatts is the Energizer Bunny of the country music world. With the release of their now-platinum 2014 album "Rewind," the group debuted at #1 the Billboard country charts — marking their eighth studio album in a row to do that. That's not a bad track record for a band that released its first album way back in 2000.

The gang — Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney — are reportedly working on a new CD to release sometime next year, but, for now, they're out touring. They'll be performing in concert Saturday at Mohegan Sun Arena, and you can be assured they'll bust out hits like "Bless the Broken Road," "Life Is a Highway" and "What Hurts the Most," all powered by LeVox's distinctive, high-lonesome-sound voice.

Oh, and come Nov. 4, Rascal Flatts will be back at the Country Music Association awards, where the band is up for group of the year.

Rascal Flatts, 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Mohegan Sun Arena; also Mo Pitney; $75, $95; mohegansun.com.
