    Serve Here CT initiative aired at Charter Oak

    An initiative to help Connecticut young people reduce academic debt while encouraging them to work in the public sector and nonprofit fields will get a public airing at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Charter Oak Federal Credit Union, 1055 Hartford Turnpike, Waterford.

    Led by Alva Greenberg and Thomas Gullotta, the initiative called Serve Here CT aims at helping adults between the ages of 18 and 29. Registered employers will get $10,000 to help fund a salary, while Serve Here CT fellows will receive $10,000 toward academic debt or future study.
