Captain's Pizza restaurant in New London, which closed for much of last year before reopening this summer, has been shut down temporarily for renovations, owner Greg Robinson said Wednesday.
Robinson said the restaurant at 8 Bank St. will reopen the evening of Columbus Day, Oct. 12. He added that he hopes to have his liquor permit in place shortly thereafter.
"It's nothing like I was forced to close," Robinson said.
Robinson, who has owned Captain's Pizza since 2010, previously ran Campus Pizza in the Hodges Square area. The restaurant was one of the city's most popular under the late Konstantinos "Charlie" Papathanasiou.
