Aldi hiring for Waterford food store
Groton — Aldi, the supermarket chain that opened a store here last month, will host a hiring event for its planned Waterford store from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday at the Mystic Marriott Hotel on North Road.
Company representatives will be available to meet with candidates for the positions of store associate, shift manager and store manager trainee. Applicants must be 18 or older and preferably have a high school diploma or GED certificate. They must be able to work anytime between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m., submit to drug-screening and be able to lift 45 pounds. Retail experience is preferred. Management experience is preferred for manager trainee candidates.
Pay for store associates is $12.75 per hour, while shift managers earn $17 per hour, the company said. Store manager trainees are paid $60,000 per year ($25 per hour, an average of 45 hours per week) and can eventually earn $90,000 to $100,000 per year as a store manager.
Employees averaging more than 25 hours a week are eligible for full health insurance benefits and dental coverage. All employees are invited to participate in a 401(k) program.
