Mohegan Sun announced Wednesday it plans to open a new bar in the casino’s Race Book this fall.

The 74-seat New Belgium Taproom will feature 12 draft lines serving sour and seasonal beers, including Fat Tire Belgian Style Ale, Fat Tire Belgian White Ale, IPAs from the Voodoo Ranger IPA collection, Citradelic Tangerine IPA, Belgian Abbey and Trippel beers.

New Belgium is the second-largest brewer of sour-style beers in the world and the largest brewer of sour beers in the United States.

In addition, tickets for the casino’s 6th Annual Sun Brewfest will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at the Mohegan Sun Box Office and Ticketmaster. A portion of all ticket sales will benefit the Channel 3 Kids Camp.

The event, set for Saturday, Oct. 7, will feature tastings of more than 150 craft beers, Halftime Hops sponsored by Arooga’s restaurant and the bag-tossing Cornhole Tournament.
