Norwich hearing on controversial Burger King postponed to Thursday

Norwich — Tuesday’s planning commission meeting and public hearing on a controversial proposed Burger King on Town Street abutting the historic colonial burying ground has been postponed to Thursday.

City officials said the notice of the special meeting of the Commission on the City Plan was not properly advertised.

The meeting is rescheduled to 7 p.m. Thursday in Council Chambers at Norwich City Hall.

The public hearing on the proposed drive-thru portion of the proposed Burger King at 61, 63 and 65 Town St. is the only major item on the agenda but the commission will not act on the application until the Oct. 16 meeting.
