City of Groton Municipal Building Auditorium, 295 Meridian Street, Groton, CT
City Cabaret 2012 presents The OBrien Strings, playing music fit for a President with the beautiful sounds of string instruments. The concert begins at 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 19, in the City of Groton Municipal Auditorium.
The OBrien Strings is a classical trio playing everything from “Bach to Broadway.” The trio consists of Kate O’Brien on the violin, Lydia Leizman on the viola, and Patti Smith on the cello.
The classical literature available for this ensemble is limited, so Kate O’Brien has written arrangements of everything from familiar classics to current popular love songs, ragtime, swing, blues, ethnic, rock, Broadway tunes, holiday favorites, and some original compositions. She prides herself in being able to honor special requests.
The City Cabaret 2012 concert series is co-sponsored and co-produced by Groton Utilities and the City of Groton Parks and Recreation Department.
Please consider bringing a non-perishable food item.
Jack Madry, jazz pianist, will end the concert series on March 11, 2012.
