The Guild will be exhibiting over 300 quilts made by it’s members and their associates. ALL NATURAL, an exhibition showcasing the work of artists and fine artisans who incorporate natural materials in their work opens at Spectrum Art Gallery and Artisans Store (June 27 - August 10). The exhibit includes macro photography of the natural world and fine art and crafts using materials such as sea and river glass, encaustic, wood, feathers, spider web, egg tempera and casein. During the six-week show, the Gallery offers free events to the public including a Family Day, Sunday, July 20, (1-5pm) with Art and Nature Workshops, Storytelling, Music and a Scavenger Hunt. Spectrum is the newest expansion of the non-profit arts organization Arts Center Killingworth, whose mission includes providing opportunities for emerging and established artists to display and sell their work.

The Avery-Copp House, located at 154 Thames St. in Groton, will be open to the public for guided tours through October 12. Hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults and free to children under age 12.
The Colonial style house, built in the early 1800s, was Victorianized at the turn of the 20th century. It houses the story of an American family that lived there for 200 years. Furnishings are original and a testament to Yankee thrift, inventiveness and hard work. Two Victorian gazebos sit above the house on the terraced lawns overlooking the Thames River.
The house is open seasonally and by appointment year round. Events for families and the general public are offered throughout the year, including a Fall Garden Party, a Christmas Open House, Charles Dickens dramatic readings, tours and lectures.

This event will help the rottweilers and other dogs. Leinert founded the organization in 2000, which is dedicated to the rescue and rehab of abandoned, abused and neglected Rottweilers.
