Two news shows opening at ACGOW
One room ain’t enough! So much art! Indeed, two new exhibitions open with a reception from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Artists’ Cooperative Gallery of Westerly. Up front is their 22nd Annual Regional Exhibit featuring arts and crafts — the gallery’s largest and most diverse show of the year. Clint Slowik, director of New London’s Marquee Gallery, serves as juror. Meanwhile, in the space’s Back Room Art Gallery, “Drawings of Louise Pittaway” also kicks off (see her “Dreamer” here). Both shows run through May 31. The gallery’s located at 7 Canal St., Westerly. Hours 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Wed.-Sat. and 1-5 p.m. Sun.; (401) 596-2221, westerlyarts.com.
