The 2016 Whalie Awards ceremony takes place June 11— and the online voting booth for musician/industry/events awards in more than 20 categories is now open. As any fan or veteran of the regional music scene knows, The Whalies is a distinctively cool gathering — equal parts tongue-in-cheek and a collective well-done clap on the back, the show is always hilarious, touching, memorable and just Big Fun. This year’s production marks a big change — the event takes place inside New London’s Crocker House Ballroom instead of the traditional Hygienic Art Park location.
