The Florence Griswold Museum, of course, is famously linked to the Lyme Art Colony painters and their plein-air work. Now, the museum has asked a different group of artists to turn their lenses, literally, on this site’s landscape, collections and story. In doing so, they’ll provide a new take on a familiar place. Among the 10 photographers participating are Tina Barney, who will reflect on Florence Griswold House visitors in her work. The resulting photographs are featured in “In Place: Contemporary Photographers Envision a Museum,” which opens Oct. 1 and runs through Jan. 29. The museum at 96 Lyme St., Old Lyme, is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tues.-Sat. and 1-5 p.m. Sun. Admission is $10, $9 seniors, $8 students, free for kids 12 and under; (860) 434-5542.
